Smile

By Raina Telgemeier

It all starts when Raina falls from running back to her house from Girl Scouts with her friends. She knocks out/pushes up her two front upper teeth. Raina goes through lots of braces, headgear, a retainer with two fake teeth attached, surgery, and luckily it pays off. She meets new friends and has trouble with boys. Finally, with new and nice friends, Raina can actually smile without being embarrassed!

I recommend this book because it is a good book. You should read this book because you might have the same problem. My opinion of this book is that it was good and was a tough journey for Raina.

The School for Good and Evil: A World Without Princes

By Soman Chainani

The book I read is The School for Good and Evil: A World Without Princes. The main characters are Sophie, Agatha and Tedros. I felt sad about how much their friendship went wrong.
In the beginning Sophie is making a play, some things go wrong, and they end up at the School for Good and Evil. The school has turned into a School for Boys and a School for Girl.

I liked it, but it was too confusing at the beginning, so I don’t recommend it.

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

By J.K. Rowling

I really recommend this book because it has lots of action and it’s very interesting. I like the characters and they made me feel great.

It is Harry’s third year at Hogwarts and he has a great adventure. Before Harry begins his third year at Hogwarts, he blows up his Aunt Marge. On the Hogwart’s Express he meets his new teacher, Professor Lupin. Someone is coming for Harry…

The Land of Stories: Beyond the Kingdoms

By Chris Colfer

Alex is the new fairy godmother who sometimes lets her powers get the best of her. Conner’s number one job is to watch over and protect his twin sister Alex while Mother Goose is depressed over the death of her good friend. The twins and Mother Goose must travel through books to stop the Masked Man from destroying the fairy tale world.
I recommend this book because it has amazing characters you get to know in a whole new way. I love how Chris Colfer grabs your attention and keeps it. He will always leave you wanting more with fun, funny, dark, and spooky magic.

Tell Me

Joan Bauer
This book is really good. It’s really fun to read and it seems real. I would recommend it because it teaches a good lesson: that anyone can make a difference.

The book is not scary, but it’s very exciting and some parts are funny. The main character, Anna, seems like a real person and I think that makes the book more interesting to read.

Sisters

Raina Telgemier

Raina is a teen who loves to listen to music and has two annoying younger siblings: Will and Amera. They go once a week on a car trip to see their cousins. Later something gets loose in the car.

It is not a scary book but it is a little funny. With that said I think it is fun to read because I can relate to having younger siblings. I would Recommend this book to people that like books with a normal story where things get a little out of hand but resolve themselves in the end.

The B.F.G.

By Roald Dahl

I loved The BFG. The main characters are Sophie and the BFG. I liked all the nice characters. I don’t like the mean giant. Sophie and the BFG have to stop the other giants from eating any more people. Sophie comes up with an idea to make a dream and blow it into the queen’s head. When she sees the nightmare she will have to do something about it. If she doesn’t the world will come to an end.

It is a fun and funny book for many people. I think you should read it.

The Giver

By Lois Lowry

The Giver is a really good book. The main characters are Jonas, Gabriel, and the Giver. I liked them because they had the courage to keep going. It starts in Jonas’ community where everything has no color. Only the Receiver can see the color.
I couldn’t stop reading it. I loved the whole book, but not the ending. There weren’t really any scary parts, but there was a lot of action and you never knew what was going to happen next. I do admit that the beginning was confusing, but it got way better. I recommend the book because there is a lot of what happens next feelings. I can’t wait to find out what is next.
